A peaceful little house set in a private pine grove just outside Vila Nova de Milfontes. A place to slow down, work remotely and live close to nature for a few weeks or a few months.
Casinha do Pinhal combines the privacy and tranquillity of the countryside with easy access to the village and the Alentejo coast. It is especially suited to couples, small families, remote workers and anyone looking for a slower rhythm between land and sea.
THE HOUSE
Compact in size, generous in atmosphere. The house has one double bedroom, a wooden mezzanine with a second double bed, a sofa bed in the living room, an open-plan kitchen and living area, bathroom, and a separate workspace/dressing room.
Wi-Fi and air conditioning make the house comfortable for longer stays throughout the year, while the fully equipped kitchen and dedicated workspace make it practical for everyday living and remote work.
OUTDOOR LIVING
The land is an important part of the experience. The house sits within around 1.2 hectares of private pine woodland and open space, with a covered terrace and plenty of room to enjoy life outdoors.
There is a dedicated barbecue area, a wooden lookout among the pines with a swing beneath it, and a trampoline and natural play areas for children.
LOCATION
The house is just outside Vila Nova de Milfontes, close enough to reach the village by bike while still feeling immersed in the countryside.
The Mira estuary, Atlantic beaches, surf spots and coastal walks are all nearby. Praia do Malhão, one of the wild highlights of the Alentejo coast, is around 10 km away.
A PLACE MADE WITH CARE
Casinha do Pinhal has been restored slowly and thoughtfully, with care for the land around it. We continue to encourage native vegetation and wildlife-friendly habitats, creating a small refuge for both guests and nature.
Sustainability is part of everyday life here. The house uses a modern water-saving dry toilet and a plant-based natural wastewater treatment system, which are simple, comfortable solutions designed to reduce its environmental footprint.
GOOD TO KNOW
This is genuine countryside rather than a resort or conventional holiday apartment. Birds, frogs, insects and other small wildlife are part of the natural surroundings, and neighbouring farm animals sometimes stop by the fence.
The ecological dry toilet is different from a standard flush toilet, but it is clean, simple to use and explained on arrival.
If you enjoy nature, privacy and a slower way of living, while still having Wi-Fi and the practical comforts needed for a longer stay, you are likely to feel at home here.

How you can cancel a booking varies depending on what stage the booking is in.
Is your booking request still waiting for host approval? Then you can simply cancel it directly from your My Housing web app!
However, suppose the owner has already approved your booking request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the booking before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the host accepts your booking, the property is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.
