"Felt like home – highly recommended!"
I stayed in this flat for one week and had a great experience! The apartment was exactly as described – clean, cozy, and fully equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The location is close to public transport, shops, and restaurants, yet quiet and peaceful at night. It’s located in the Marquês de Pombal area, which is super central and well connected – a great base to explore Lisbon. Like many parts of Lisbon, the area has its fair share of hills, so be ready for a few ups and downs when walking around – but that’s part of the charm! The host was incredibly friendly and responsive, always available for any questions or help. I felt very welcome and at home throughout my stay.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and pleasant place to stay!
Neighborhood
The neighborhood is typically portuguese, safe, and lively, with wide avenues, shops, cafés, and good public transport links. From here, it’s easy to reach both the historic center and the more modern parts of the city. The beautiful Eduardo VII Park is just a short walk away – great for a morning stroll or relaxing in the sun. Like many areas in Lisbon, expect some hills and slopes – walking around means going up and down, but it also means discovering charming views and local spots along the way.
Recommended places nearby
During my stay I discovered some great places to eat and explore. The neighborhood is central, well connected, and lively. I love ethnic restaurants so I would recommend:
Royal Spice – Delicious Indian and Nepalese food with friendly service. A favorite for spice lovers.
Olá Nepal Marquês de Pombal – A highly rated Nepalese and Indian restaurant. Great vegetarian options and lovely staff.
Manga ramen Marques - Vibrant anime/manga-style wall art and shelves full of figures. Robot (cat) waiters deliver meals-adds a fun otaku vibe.
Quick Asia - Cozy Thai-Asian also great takeaway spot specializing in Pad Thai and combo dishes.
There's a lot of special restaurants to try!
I would also recommend to walk from Praça Marquês de Pombal – The main roundabout with a statue of the Marquis of Pombal. A symbol of Lisbon's history - and from there enjoying the beautiful roads that will take to Rossio and Baixia.
Parque Eduardo VII – A beautiful park just north of the square. Great for a walk, with panoramic views and a peaceful lake café.
Avenida da Liberdade – A tree-lined boulevard perfect for shopping or a stylish stroll. You'll find designer stores and cute cafés.
