​The studio is a garden annex attached to a main house in a residential area of Cascais. While the garden is pleasant and the host provided a welcome package, several significant issues regarding privacy, utility monitoring, and environmental noise impacted the stay:

​Privacy & Personal Property: This is a shared-property suite with very thin walls where noise carries easily. During a "light cleaning," a housekeeper went through closed cupboards and discarded a bag containing my original travel and tax documents. Although I eventually recovered them from the trash, they were not there initially and only reappeared later, which was highly distressing.

​Atmosphere & Surveillance: The unit contains fixtures, such as a highly reflective wide-angle lightbulb in the kitchen, that contribute to a constant feeling of being watched.

​Utility & Internet Consistency: While the hot water worked normally on day one, it was strictly limited to approximately 10-minute intervals for the remainder of the stay. Additionally, despite no reported local outages, the Wi-Fi failed entirely during my final week, requiring the use of a VPN for security and a personal pocket Wi-Fi for work.

​Constant Noise: The noise level was overwhelming from early morning until 1:00 AM, including barking dogs, heavy construction, loud engines, and persistent poultry sounds at dawn. I had to rely on noise-canceling headphones throughout the day to sleep or meet work deadlines.

​Kitchen & Facilities: The unit has limited food storage (mini-fridge) and a toaster oven rather than a full oven. The cooktop is extremely sensitive to moisture and shuts off frequently during meal prep. The shower also floods the bathroom floor easily, requiring constant maintenance to manage humidity.

​Summary: This space may work for a short-term solo traveler, but I would not recommend it for those who prioritize a truly private, unmonitored environment or a quiet space for professional work.

Neighborhood
The neighborhood is a safe, well-serviced residential area close to the ocean, though the local atmosphere can feel very high-monitored for those who are clearly not local. I experienced significant staring and even had a stranger take my photo while I was out. It is a functional area for services, but those seeking a sense of anonymity or a 'neighborhood' feel where they can blend in may find it challenging.

The water views are the highlight of the area and offer a nice backdrop for walks. However, during my stay, it rained approximately 90% of the time, and due to the social environment and my focus on rest, I do not have specific local establishments to recommend.

Large and beautiful private garden. The tiny house has everything you need for a comfortable stay for you and even your dog. =D

We had a very comfortable stay. It's a calm place and there is a nice garden to relax outside.

The place has everything you need for a longer stay with good amenities. We went to the beach, the supermarkets, and explored Cascais even by foot.

Tomás is a responsive and really nice host. He was there for us for any info! Thank you :)

My wife and I absolutely loved our stay here. The only feedback we'd provide is that the bed was a little too firm for our liking, however the hospitality Tomas showed us easily overpowered that small aspect. Beautiful grounds, safe location with easy access to the best parts of town, and a modern studio with everything you could ever need. Seriously, we'd stay here forever if we could. Even our dogs enjoyed the place and took a liking to Tomas. Would recommend this place to any and everyone!
